I want to apologize, as I didn’t take as many pictures for this tutorial. Sorry guys!
As with any cosplay craft, make sure you have plenty of reference images. The first thing you need to do is make a base to build everything up on. Using EVA foam, I cut out a rectangle in a size that worked for my arm. I then used craft foam to create a sling for my arm to sit in.
You also need to cut out a blade holder. I did eyeballed it, then trimmed it down later.
The blade is a template made by vinman on the predatorium forum. He does templates for a nearly entire AVP pred. Next, I did some detail work. Cut this out of craft foam.
Glue the base together (not the blade part)
I also added a little detail using the hot glue gun. Now, for the blade, I used a thick sign plastic, then covered it front and back in foam. This keeps it soft, but sturdy.
Glue the foam to the plastic. Then, glue the blade into it’s casing. Trim up as needed. Cover in craft foam for a smooth finish.
Using black plastidip, coat the entire thing 2 or 3 times. Next is painting. Since I used black plastidip, I went right into painting. If you didn’t, I recommend painting a base coat of black first. Personally, I like how sliver pops on black.
Ignore the Elsa egg thing. I was painting multiple things that day. After painting, do your weathering using black and silver and a dry brushing technique, or however you like best.
Finished! Now, if you, like me, made your wrist bit too small, cut up the bottom and install some elastic.
Until next time, keep cosplaying! Any questions, comments, or requests, leave them below!
